Our history

Mortimore and Co Chartered Certified Accountants has grown to become a successful accountants and tax consultancy office.

From simple beginnings, when we were helping the region's self-employed to file their tax returns, we have developed an excellent reputation for providing accountancy services and sorting out accounting and tax questions for both individual clients and businesses.

Our down to earth and friendly approach has been developed with the client in mind.

1983

Martin Elliott formed the practice.

1989

Martin Elliott was joined by Eric Cole to form Elliott & Cole.

2005

Simon Mortimore joined Martin Elliott upon Eric Cole's retirement to form Elliott, Mortimore Accountants.

The office was modernised and networked in order to utilise the benefits of modern computers and software.

2008

Martin Elliott retired due to ill health and Simon Mortimore took sole responsibility for the affairs of the clients and formed the current practice as Mortimore and Co Chartered Certified Accoutants.

The office was refurbished and the team expanded to accommodate the growing needs of the practice to include Qualified Accountants who work together with support staff with many years of experience. Many of the staff have been with the practice for many years and have a good understanding of the client's needs and requirements offering you continuity of service.

The practice fully encompasses technology whilst still understanding the importance of understanding that good communication between Advisors and Clients is of upmost importance.
